Tenacious D have performed a cover of the classic Oasis track ‘Champagne Supernova’ while on tour in the UK. Check out footage of the moment below.
The comedy duo – aka Jack Black and Kyle Gass – broke out the rendition of the Britpop anthem during their show in Brighton, as part of the ‘Spicy Meatball’ tour.
Originally shared by Liam Gallagher and co. in 1995 as the closing track on their second studio album, ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, the cover was integrated into Tenacious D’s 18-song set mid-way through their performance of ‘Double Team’.
In footage of the moment shared online, Jack Black is seen singing the track with the audience while holding his acoustic guitar, and going on to belt the chorus while breaking out various power stances.

Elsewhere at the show at Brighton Centre, the duo delivered other covers of famous tracks including the classic Thin Lizzy track ‘Jailbreak’ and Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game’.
A highlight of the gig also came in the encore, where Black and Gass performed the first full performance of their cover of the Britney Spears hit ‘…Baby One More Time’.
Originally, their rock-inspired rendition of Spears’ 1998 debut single arrived back in March, when they shared a clip online ahead of the release of Black’s new film Kung Fu Panda 4.
Tenacious D’s cover soundtracks the closing credits of the film, and the clip soon went viral on TikTok. It now stands at over 73million views, and over seven million ‘likes’ on the platform.
“Britney, if you’re watching, I love you. I love the song…. We’re very proud of [the cover and] I hope you like it, too,” he said at the premiere of the film, also hinting at a collaboration with the pop star.
“I’m here! I’m ready when you are… I’m waiting by the phone. I got kicks! I don’t quite have Britney kicks, but you know, I got some moves.”

Just last week, Tenacious D made headlines again for their run of UK tour dates, after launching into a spontaneous cover of Travis’ ‘Turn’ on stage while in Glasgow.
As seen with the Oasis cover, Jack Black broke into the soaring chorus of the 1999 song as the band were playing ‘Double Team’ at the OVO Hydro on May 9.
A day later, Travis posted the clip, alongside an old photograph of themselves alongside Black and his Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass. “The force is strong in this one… Love you forever Jack!”, the band wrote.
