Due for release on October 17, the book is a full-colour reproduction of AURORA’s personal notebook that pulls back the curtain on how she created her latest album. It also features all the lyrics from the album, original artwork and photography. Pre-order the book here.

“This book contains every thought that came to mind the first time I asked myself the question that became the very seed of my fourth album; ‘What Happened To The Heart?’,” AURORA said in a press release. I found myself in a dark place, and as I looked out at the world it seemed to find itself in an even darker place than I. So I searched for light in the only place I know: music. In this book you will find what you may not hear in the music, I hope it touches your soul.”

AURORA’s previous book The Gods We Can Touch proved so popular that it required additional print runs.

In a four-star review of ‘What Happened To The Heart?’, NME wrote: “Like Björk before her (and we should stress now that this is where the similarity ends), AURORA has often been plagued with this patronising image of being another “ethereal” Nordic witch. This, though, is a fiery record dealing in reality – dancing with the imps rather than away with the fairies.”

Aurora will be playing concerts in the UK and Europe on a tour that kicks off in Milan later this month. She will then head to the UK for three dates in October – find tickets here.

AURORA’s 2024 UK and European headline tour dates are:

SEPTEMBER

18 – Alcatraz, Milan, Italy

20 – Gasometer, Vienna, Austria

21 – Sportovní hala Fortuna, Prague, Czechia

23 – Tauron Arena, Krakow, Poland

24 – COS Torwar, Warsaw, Poland

25 – UFO, Berlin, Germany

27 – Forest National, Belgium, Brussels

28 – AFAS Live, Amsterdam, Netherlands

30 – L’Olympia, Paris, France

OCTOBER

2 – Royal Albert Hall, London, UK

4 – O2 Apollo, Manchester, UK

5 – Usher Hall, Edinburgh, UK

She will also head out on a European tour next year, which includes a show at Wembley Arena in May.

Last month, AURORA joined Bring Me The Horizon in Japan to play their recent collaboration ‘Limousine’ for the first time.

Frontman Oli Sykes told NME in June about the song’s inception and his choice of AURORA as guest vocalist.

“I know what I wanted on that song and that was someone to bring something that could level it up – someone like a really ethereal, haunting, beautiful, voice,” he explained.

“I wanted someone to elevate it and take it somewhere else. The song itself is very Deftones-influenced, almost to a point of parody! For this whole record, we’re happy to admit that the songs all are very nostalgic homages to loads of bands, but it’s also felt very important that we do something where we were pushing it as well to make it our own, put our own stamp on it.”

AURORA, Sykes reasoned, “was that person that helped elevate the song to something that feels exotic and different.” He added: “AURORA for me is what a pop star should be, what the next wave of pop stars should look like; someone that has the songs, but is a real person who dares to speak what they believe in, who gives a shit about the world.”
